Industrialized Housing Council Meeting March 7th – New Modular Home Agency Proposed Rules to be Discussed

On Friday, March 7th, the IHB Council will meet in Austin to address multiple agenda items.  The most significant will be a discussion on currently proposed new administrative rules that, if adopted, would apply to all residential modular homes in Texas.  The proposed rules are in response to 2013 legislation that TMHA advocated for that limits the regulatory jurisdiction of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (the regulatory body in Texas over modular homes) to two years following a home’s final third-party inspection.

TMHA has significant concerns with the proposed rules and has previously submitted written public comments.  TMHA’s Executive Director, DJ Pendleton, will attend and testify along with other TMHA members at next week’s Council meeting.
