Texas Manufactured Housing Survey - General Business Activity Index

The Survey
TMHA in partnership with the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M University conducts a monthly Texas Manufactured Housing Survey (TMHS) of 20 plants representing 92% of the state’s HUD-code manufactured home production. Participants are asked whether production, prices, orders, and other indicators have improved, worsened, or held steady compared to the previous month, and responses are weighted by each facility’s share of production to form a balance index. Any reading above zero means more of the market reported improvement than decline.
General Business Activity
General business activity improved again in July. The index registered 64, with improvement reported across nearly two-thirds of the weighted sample, the broadest reading since May. Expectations for the six months ahead remain positive but settled back from June’s elevated readings.
