Manufactured home shipments for October crested the 1,500 homes mark for the first time since October of last year. There was an increase in production days over September and both single-section and multi-section homes saw increases over last month.
Multi-section home shipments had higher month-over-month growth and beat single-section shipments for the 11th straight month.
Multi-section shipments were up over October of last year and single-sections came in below last year’s total.
|Total for October:||709||809||1,518|
|Change from September:||8.7%||18.4%||13.7%|
|Change from October of 2018:||-11.6%||2.3%||-4.7%|
The year-over-year total is down -14.5% but retail sales remain strong and are on pace to beat shipments on the year.
|Total for 2019 YTD:||6,117||6,853||12,970|
|Change from 2018 (%):||-25.6%||-1.4%||-14.5%|
|Change from 2018 (Units):||-2,103||-94||-2,197|
Multi-section shipments expanded at a faster pace than single-section homes in October so the larger home streak continues.
August and September retail sales are on pace to beat shipments. Revisions have brought retail sales in May officially above shipments for that month.
