TDLR Pushes Back Modular IRC Code Compliance Date

Tags: Advocacy

TDLR recently published a rule revision that pushes back to the mid-summer the effective date for the new building code requirements.  The requirement that industrialized housing (i.e. modular homes) be built to the 2021 version of the IRC, and 2020 version of the NEC will now go into effect on July 1, 2024.

Recall that the energy code is not changing from its current 2015 version of the IECC.

There was some confusion and posting errors with the original effective date that mentioned April and then May, but to correct these errors, TDLR has pushed the date back to July 1, 2024.
