After More than 20 Months Since its Last Meeting, TDLR’s IHB Council Meets this Friday

On Friday, August 2 the Texas Industrialized Building Code Council of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will hold its first Council meeting since December 1, 2011.

Recall at the December meeting TMHA Executive Director and many TMHA members and board members testified on a range of concerns the modular housing industry had relating to TDLR’s then regulatory practices. Since that December 2011 Council meeting TMHA successfully advocated and help pass SB 672 during the most recently legislative session that effectively limits TDLR’s regulatory authority over modular home manufacturers, builders and third-party inspectors to only two years following the final inspection of a newly placed modular home.

The Council meeting starts at 12:30 p.m. on the 1st Floor Public Meeting Room (125E) of TDLR's North Campus, located at 1106 Clayton Lane in Austin.  The agenda for the meeting can be found here: http://www.tdlr.state.tx.us/Agendas/AdvisoryBrdAgendas/ihbagenda080213.htm.

The meeting will also be broadcast online.

TMHA would also like to extend our congratulations to Larry Wilkinson with American Homestar for his reappointment to the Council by Gov. Perry during the 2013 Legislative Session.
