October 2017 Shipment Report

Following a slight decline in the preceding month, October shipments surged on a 55.3% increase in single-section homes. Texas manufacturers shipped 1,000 homes across the state, besting the previous peak of 780 single-section homes hit in March (since we began reporting in 2012).

Factories from out of state shipped in an additional 112 single-section homes, bringing the month’s total to 1,112 homes, 107.1% higher than single-section shipments in October of 2016.

Besides the continued market demand pressure, disaster relief housing played a part in the production increases. TDHCA reported at their Nov. 17th board meeting that over 200 FEMA units had been produced both in and out of state for October and that they had inspected over 94 FEMA installations in the September thru October time frame.

To date there have been 235 FEMA installations per TDHCA.

Multi-section homes were down -9.7% from September, but at 569 homes still came in 53.4% above October of 2016.
