May 2015 Reports and June Preliminary Data
On time new home titles for May came in down around where we reported them in last month's preliminary release. The inclusion of the additional month's worth of retailer titles has pushed us red across the board for the January through May time frame.
Looking forward though, while June shipments were down from the preceding month, down from June of 2014, and down YoY, June preliminary titles are well up over June of 2014 and are at this point second only to March's preliminary total for the year. As shipments have been tracking ahead of new titles this could be a result of retailers selling additional homes out of inventory.
Also out of the good news department, March saw a strong upward revision of an additional 81 new homes and I've had the good pleasure of talking to a number of our manufacturer, retailer and lender members at our 63rd Annual Convention, and the consensus view is that July was good and August is tracking very well.
