August 2016 Shipment Report

Welcome to the first post in what will be a monthly series on shipments. After last month’s substantial decrease, which I believe was due in most part to the 4th of July holiday, August shipments were a welcome sight. Given the additional week of production it is no surprise that the totals for single and multi-section homes were way up over the previous month. What is better news though, is that August beat August of 2015 by double digits across the board. That year over year growth pulls us up from the -5.77% we were down on the year for total shipments last month to being down just -3.22% at present.

The decline from last year is being driven by an -8.52% decrease in single-section shipments, which I believe the decline in oil prices has played a part in, but for those of you who did not attend the Leadership Panel at our annual convention, Steve Schaub the COO of YES! Communities gave reason to believe that there may be a shot in the arm coming for single-section shipments as his company had delayed making their first quarter orders while undergoing a recapitalization effort, and were putting in orders to the tune of 325 single-section homes in mid-August.

If you are interested in watching the Leadership Panel rebroadcast it is available for members to view.

All in all it was an excellent month.

I will include the two sections below with each monthly report. The first section is the shipment stats for the month. The second is a line plot showing monthly shipment totals as compared to new titles.
