This course has been certified by the Manufactured Housing Division of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. Completion of eight (8) hours of this course will satisfy a licensee holder’s two year statutory continuing education requirement.
This course is broken down into modules. Once enrolled you will see all modules listed by topic name and the minimum amount of time required to complete each individual module on the Module List page.
To start and complete a module, select the specific module from the Module List. Each module costs $10 per module for TMHA members and $20 per module for Non-TMHA Members. We encourage all who take the course to be TMHA members. Not only do you receive a half price discount on your continuing education cost, but you will also be able to access the materials on the various modules anytime in the future for personal reference through the membership section of the TMHA website. Non-Members will not have access to the course content for future reference.
Randomly throughout the modules questions will be asked. These simple questions will be used to ensure the license holder who signed up to take the class is properly participating in the module. If you select an incorrect answer to a compliance check question, you will be prompted to select another answer. This will continue until the correct answer is selected, then the course will advance.
TMHA’s continuing education allows license holders the flexibility to take various modules on their personal timetable. Users can take as few as one or as many as all modules in succession. The program will save a users completed module records. Once a user has earned eight or more hours, as indicated by the minimum time stamps next to each module, the user will be notified they have complete the statutory amount of education and certification of completion will automatically be electronically submitted to TDHCA. Once renewed, your license with TDHCA is valid for two years.
The module format is based on a series of pages, or slides, of content. Each slide is allocated a specific amount of minimum seconds. The minimum amount of seconds must run before a user is allowed to advance to the next slide. The per slide timing minimums are necessary to ensure a license holder completes the statutorily required eight hours of continuing education. Slide time minimums range for 15 seconds up to several minutes. Users may finish reading or watching the slide material in less time set as the minimum. If a user does finish a slide prior to the minimum time allotment, we encourage those users to take the remaining time to review the material of the particular slide until the minimum time expires and they can advance to the next slide. The time requirements are minimums only. A user can take as long on he or she would like to review the slides. However, the credit a user receives is dictated by the minimum time allotments and indicated next to each module on the Module List.
TMHA thanks you for choosing our course as your continuing education provider. We hope you find it informative and useful in your continuing business enterprises in the manufactured and modular housing industry in Texas.
TMHA constantly strives to improve our continuing education program and would appreciate any input you can provide on improvements, future module topics, elimination of problem areas and any other suggested improvements to the course.
